内蒙古民族歌舞剧院内设歌舞团、蒙古剧团、民族交响乐团、蒙古族青年合唱团、蒙古乐团、野马马头琴乐团、影视剧中心、舞美制作中心、艺术创作中心、演出交流中心等12个职能机构，有国家一级演员51人、国家二级演员140人，主要任务是从事民族歌舞和蒙古剧的创作和演出，促进交响乐、蒙古族合唱艺术和以马头琴为代表的民乐等各类民族艺术的全面繁荣和发展。
Inner Mongolia National Song and Dance Troupe has 12 functioning departments. They are Song and Dance Ensemble, Mongolian Drama Troupe, Ethnic Symphony Orchestra, Mongolian Youth Chorus, Mongolian Ensemble, Wild Horse Horse-head Fiddle Ensemble, Center for Films and TV Plays, Stage Art Production Center, Artistic Creation Center and Performance and Exchange Center. In the Troupe there are 51 nationally first-class actors and actresses, 141 nationally second-class performers. The major tasks of the Troupe are to produce and perform ethnic songs and dances and Mongolian dramas and to push forward the all-round development and booming of various ethnic arts such as the symphony, Mongolian choral art and ethnic music which has the horse-head fiddle as its typical symbol.
内蒙古民族歌舞剧院是艺术资源优化配置、艺术类别互激互补，代表内蒙古民族艺术特点、地区特色和最高艺术水准的复合型艺术表演团体。既有值得珍藏的历史记忆，也有开拓创新的艺术命题。歌舞艺术曾有在世界青年联欢节荣获金奖和全国大赛中摘取桂冠的盛誉。民族歌舞《千里草原多秀美》在第二届全国少数民族文艺会演中获演出金奖、创作金奖、舞美金奖，民族歌舞乐《天堂草原》参加第三届全国少数民族会演荣获最高奖演出大奖。蒙古族风情歌舞《草原情》参加第三届中国上海国际艺术节，《白云飘落的故乡》参加上海第八届国际艺术节，《安达情》参加第十二届青年歌手大奖赛原生态组团体第一名，成功亮相。《鄂尔多斯舞》、《马刀舞》、《雁舞》、《盅碗舞》、《挤奶员舞》、《天堂》流传久远；《牧人浪漫曲》、《母爱》、《草原小夜曲》等作品也成为国内外共识的上乘之作；《草原上升起不落的太阳》、《美丽的草原我的家》、《敖包相会》、《各族人民心连心》、《乳香飘》、《赞歌》、《牧歌》、《草原恋》等歌曲广为传唱；蒙古剧《满都海斯琴》捧得第六届中国艺术节金质大奖，四项文华大奖，全国“五个一工程”奖；参加在奥地利、荷兰举办的奥林匹克合唱大赛中获国际和平艺术节合唱艺术金奖；交响乐团是中国少数民族地区最完整的交响乐团，除演奏贝多芬、莫扎特、柴科夫斯基的著名曲作之外，还创作演奏了许多以草原音乐文化为主体的交响诗《嘎达梅林》、交响曲《成吉思汉陵祭》、《故乡音诗》等作品，为繁荣发展蒙古族交响艺术做出积极贡献；蒙古族青年合唱团部分演员蒙古乐团以马头琴、四胡、好比斯、三弦演奏倍受海内外观众青睐；野马马头琴乐团演奏独树一帜，《万马奔腾》、《成吉思汗的两匹骏马》、《初升的太阳》等乐曲蜚声中外；影视剧中心人才济济，在现时中国影视界叱咤风云，在《成吉思汗》、《一代天骄成吉思汗》、《悲情布鲁克》、《三国演义》、《笑傲江湖》、《西楚霸王》、《吕布与貂禅》、《嘎达梅林》等上百部影视作品中一展风采。其它艺术门类都各有千秋。丰富的艺术资源、丰厚的艺术基础、优秀的艺术人才，为内蒙古民族歌舞剧院迈向新高峰奠定了坚实的基础，积蓄了雄厚的潜力，具有了良好的条件。
Inn Mongolia National Song and Dance Troupe is an all-round artistic performing troupe whose artistic resources are optimized and well distributed and whose artistic performing forms are complemented and mutually competitive. It is the symbol of the ethnic artistic features, regional characteristics and highest artistic level in Inner Mongolia. For the Troupe there were many memorable moments and innovative creations in its history. The Troupe won golden awards at World Youth Festival and first prizes at some national contests for its songs and dances. Its ethnic song and dance drama How Beautiful the Vast Grassland Is won golden awards for its performance, creation, songs and dances at the 2nd National Ethnic Theatrical Festival. And its ethnic musical Heaven-like Grassland won the first prize for performance at the 3rd National Ethnic Theatrical Festival. Such Mongolian-flavored songs and dances of the Troupe as Love for Grassland and Where the White Cloud Drifts Down were respectively performed, with great success, at the 3rd Shanghai International Art Festival and 8th Shanghai International Art Festival. Its song Brotherhood of Anda won the first place of the primitive music group at the 12th National Prix for Young Singers. Its Dance of Ordos, Dance of Saber, Dance of Wild Geese, Dance of Cups and Bowls, Dance of Milkers and Heaven were widespread. Its music Romanza for Herdsmen, Love of Mother and Serenade for Grassland are well regarded at home and abroad. Its songs the Rising Sun on the Grassland That Never Sets Down, Beautiful Grassland Is My Home, Dates at Aobao, All Nationalities Are of One Mind, Fragrance of Milk, Praise Songs, Pastorals and Love For Grassland are widely sung. Its Mongolian drama Manduhai Siqin(Manduhai Siqi is the name of a Mongolian girl in the drama)won the golden prize at the 6th China Art Festival, 4 cultural awards and one award for the Five-One Project(A cultural project launched by the government which focuses on five aspects: a good opera, a good TV play, a good publication, a good theoretical article, and a good song and radio play). Some members of the Mongolian Youth Chorus of the Troupe participated in the Olympic Chorus Contests held in Holland and Austria and won the golden prizes for chorus at International Peace Art Festival. The Symphony Orchestra of the Troupe is the one which is in the best condition in minority-inhabited areas. Apart from playing the well-known pieces of music of Beethoven, Mozart and Tchikovsky, the Orchestra composed and played some symphonic poems with the grassland culture as their themes such as Gadameilin and symphonies such as Sacrifice for Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and Musical Poems for Hometown and contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of the symphonic art in Inner Mongolia. The Mongolian Ensemble can play music with horse-head fiddle, Sihu(a four-stringed instrument), Hobis(a three-stringed or four-stringed plucked instrument well liked by Mongolians) and Sanxie(a three-stringed plucked instrument). And its perfromancesare well liked at home and abroad. The Wild Horse Horse-head Fiddle Ensemble plays music in a unique way ,and such pieces of music that they play as Galloping Horses, Two Steeds of Genghis Khan and the Early Rising Sun are popular in China and other countries. The Center for Films and TV Plays is full of talented personnel who are very active in the fields of films and TV in China. They played a very important part in the following popular Chinese films and TV plays: Genghis Khan, Genghis Khan—Pride of Heaven, Tragic Bruk Grassland People, the Romances of Three Kingdoms, the Swordsmen, Xiang Yu—A Powerful King from Kingdom of Chu, Lu Bu and Diao Chan(Lu Bu is a legendary hero and Diao Chan is a beauty in Lu’s time) and Gadameilin(a Mongolian hero ). The other departments of the Troupe have their own strong points. The rich artistic resources and talented artistic personnel of the Troupe have laid a solid foundation, accumulated great potential and created sound conditions for the further development of Inner Mongolia National Song and Dance Troupe.

Inner Mongolia National Song and Dance Troupe which roots itself in Inner Mongolia and gears itself to the needs of the country and the world, with its excellent artistic talents and programs, are becoming active in the grassland and all over the country. It toured around 30 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. Its performance not only spreads the singing and dancing art of Inner Mongolia and enhance the influence of Inner Mongolia but also promotes the friendship among the peoples of the world.
